02 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
03 - ½ teaspoon salt

04 - ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
05 - ¾ cup granulated sugar
06 - 2 large eggs, room temperature
07 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
08 - 3 medium ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 ¼ cups)

09 - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

# Directions:
01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
03 - In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and mashed bananas until fully incorporated.
04 - Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently using a spatula until just combined, taking care not to overmix.
05 - Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and nuts if using.
06 - Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smooth the top, and optionally sprinkle extra chocolate chips on the surface.
07 - Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
08 - Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
